Jonathan Jones – October 2016 – on the site of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Museum
Jonathan, is on Renzo Piano’s architectural team that has been working on the new Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Museum (due to open in 2018) for the last 7 years. They are building it in the old historic May Co. department store on Fairfax and Wilshire in Los Angeles.
The Academy Museum will be the first in the nation dedicated solely to the art, craft, business, and history of movies on such a large scale. Perfect for Hollywood.
I was very excited to be able to take Jonathan’s portrait at the beginning of the construction phase with the north side of the building open and exposed. I can’t wait until it is finished and I will take another portrait when it is all finished.
